How does the process work?
Prior to the first appointment, clients are required to fill in a fairly extensive health questionnaire. I then conduct a detailed health review to assess your health and any underlying imbalances that may be contributing to current symptoms. During the appointment, I will discuss my findings with you and may suggest further testing and/or supplementation, and work with you to implement realistic dietary and lifestyle changes.
Nutritional Therapy is unlike conventional medicine in that it does not offer quick fixes but demands commitment from clients. It is about educating and empowering individuals to take control of their own health. Some individuals may find this process challenging and almost all of us need support when trying to implement changes in our lives. For this reason, I tend to see clients for a minimum of three sessions. Some people may require – or simply want - support for a much longer period.
The sessions are structured as follows:
The initial consultation.
This takes 90 minutes.
During this time, we will discuss your health history and diet, current symptoms and health goals.
We will come up with a mutually-agreed plan which will include any diet or lifestyle changes as well as any testing and supplement recommendations. Although I prefer a ‘food first’ approach, supplementation can prove invaluable in the short-term and in particular circumstances. Although dietary restrictions may be necessary, the emphasis will be on eating plenty of delicious, nutrient-dense foods.
The second and third appointments
These sessions take 45-60 minutes.
These will ideally take place at 4-6 weekly intervals following our initial consultation. During these appointments, we will discuss any test results, monitor symptoms and make any necessary adjustments to your plan as you embed changes and embark on the next stage of your health journey.
15 minute support calls/emails
These can be set up in between appointments, if clients have questions, need advice or are having a ‘wobble’ at a one-off cost of £75. Clients may prefer to talk over the phone or email queries.
